West Lancashire Shopmobility provides a selection
of manual and powered wheelchairs, handy walkers
and scooters to almost anyone that has problems
accessing the shops and commercial facilities of
Ormskirk and Skelmersdale town centres.

This could be because of a permanent or temporary
disability, frailty and/or accident or illness. We also,
for a minimal charge, provide long term hire of
wheelchairs and walking aids for holidays at home
or abroad.

We have extended our service to provide anyone who has just bought or is considering buying an electric scooter, the opportunity to take instruction on how to use their scooter safely.  The tuition includes amongst other things, how to drive in pedestrian areas and on public highways and how to cross roads safely.  You will also be given a “Highway Code” for electric scooter users to keep. The tuition will be carried out by one of our experienced volunteers or a member of staff. The cost for the tuition would be the same as our annual membership fee which is currently £10 and this would also entitle you to the same benefits as full membership.
